Invisible Man w hat

ARE YOU INVISIBLE?

How do you know if your company is invisible to the public? How has word-of-mouth and referrals changed in the last 10 years? According to a 2012 report from FleishmanHillard.com “89 percent of consumers turn to Google, Bing or another search engine to find information on products, services or businesses prior to making purchases”, this requires both business and non-profits to be “Visible” online. Consider the way many find information and referrals in today’s media age. Below are some hints on how to be more visible.

  1. Buying Decisions: Find out how your current target market is actually making a buying decision. Do they respond to discounts, convenience, creativity, customer service, flexibility or impulse-based incentives? Many clients will look for a few of these in a product or service.
  2. Client Habits: Be where your target market is…online and offline. Publish in media they frequent. Don’t just guess at this, ask your clients and those who you would want to do business with.  Are they reading the newspaper, walking by, listening to the radio, searching online or using social media?
  3. Multiple Locations: Make sure they can find your company in a few different places, people don’t spend time hunting anymore, make it easy. A test to find out if you are visible online (SEO) is by taking a mobile device and try searching for your company using keywords like your city, industry and name of an employee or CEO (not the company name)
